The Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Company (ADWEC) is a wholly
owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) and is the single Procurer and Seller of Water and Electricity in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The key role of ADWEC is to act as a guarantor of the security of supply of electricity and water to consumers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
This role is fulfilled through careful short-term and long-term balancing of supply and demand, through long –term Power and Water Purchase Agreements with the power/water production companies and through the Bulk Supply Tariff sales agreement with the Distribution Companies
